The placement of the symbol on the Plan can be edited by hotspots, but the Base Point of the electrical block shows the actual location of the device. The symbol has its own settings for the size and pens. The Sockets and Switches libpart with multiple items automatically generates a composite 2D symbol, depending on the types of its constituent mechanisms. The objects Sockets and Switches, Intercom, Wire Output, Ventilator, Bell use the value Base height as the mounting level and show it in the bottom line of the Marker. Symbol sizes are configured via the User Interface and are defined in millimeters of the model, regardless of the scale of the Plan. All the GDLfragments Electroblock Library Parts use the value of ID as the Marker value and show in the top line of the Marker. You can have any tilt angle of the object. The device can be placed both horizontally and vertically. The Sockets and Switches object creates wiring devices with a different number of items (1-5 mechanisms). I show then how to rt-click and set some insertion properties for the blocks as well.- You can test some library functions in the workflow using free Electroblock version 1.4 Now I can see the blocks on the palette and drag them into my drawing file. I create a new palette, name it Electrical, and from Design Center, drag the blocks onto the palette. I can then drag the block into my current drawing or rt-click and insert it with options.Īs another option, I then open Tool Palettes. I select the file, then blocks and finally I see previews of the blocks. I then use Design Center to browse to the folder and the Master file from which I want to get a block. For instance, I have a master for each of the following in addition to many others: I like to place blocks in a master file that relate to their type of discipline. In this folder I place my "Master" files. It could even be locked down so the symbols don't get changed except by authorized users. Theoretically this folder could exist on a network share so co-workers could access it as well. I created a folder on my drive called Library. I prepared a Screencast video to show you how to use Design Center.
